In My Own Room the artist used four black-and-white photographs, four images of intimacy, which we see not directly but as mirror reflections. ‘The photos can’t be seen’, comments the author. ‘They face away from the viewer and the only thing that can be seen are their mirror reflections’. The variable angle of the photo ‘flap’, like an adjustable window, changes the conditions of perception, allowing us to peek inside. A bed, a nude body, scattered clothes, private gadgets – we see them all as an illusion, a mirror image. Like an image reflected in glass, yet surprising, embarrassing. Our gaze touches upon something that is private, intimate. But this voyeuristic perspective is softened by the illusiveness of the images and their ‘unreal’, snapshot-like quality [text fragment by W. Baraniewski].

W pracy Mój własny pokój artystka wykorzystała cztery czarno-białe zdjęcia, cztery kadry intymności, które widzimy nie wprost, ale jako odbicia w lustrze. „Zdjęcia nie są widoczne - komentuje autorka - ustawione są do widza plecami, widzimy jedynie odbicie w lustrze”. Zmienny kąt odchylenia „klapki” ze zdjęciem, jak uchylone okno, zmienia warunki percepcji, umożliwia wgląd do wnętrza. Łóżko, nagie ciało, rozłożone ubrania, prywatne drobiazgi widzimy jako iluzję, refleks w lustrze. Jak obraz odbity w szybie, a zarazem zaskakujący, zawstydzający. Dotykamy okiem czegoś prywatnego, intymnego. Jednak tę perspektywę „podglądacza” łagodzi iluzyjność obrazów i ich „odrealniony”, migawkowy charakter (z tekstu W. Baraniewskiego).
