After
meeting with social service agencies, artists, and broader members
of the Cleveland community, I was introduced to ...., a homeless,
African-American, Vietnam veteran through the St. Malachi Center,
a near-West Side organization. I spent days with ..., assembling his
story into a dialogue that blurs the line between the fine line between
"traditional society" and homelessness. (...)
To
respect the privacy of this person, I chose not to reveal his face
or personal information. As a man without face “he” repressents
the masses of people like him that live on the margins of a prosperous
society.
